Introduction of Bandrone 50 mg Tablet

Bandrone 50 mg Tablet is used for the prevention of skeletal events (fractures or bone complications requiring treatment) in patients with breast cancer and bone metastases (when cancer has spread to the bones). It is also used to treat osteoporosis (a disease that makes bones brittle) in women who have gone through menopause and are at risk of fracturing. Studies have shown that Bandrone 50 mg Tablet may reduce the risk of fracturing the spine, but it has not been shown to reduce the risk of fracturing the neck of the femur (the top of the thigh bone).

Bandrone 50 mg Tablet may cause some side effects including nausea, stomach pain, diarrhoea, constipation, weakness, dizziness, headache, fever, sore throat, chills, cough and other signs of infection, frequent or urgent urination, and painful urination. These side effects are temporary. They will go away after a short time. You should tell your doctor or health care professional if they do not go away. Bandrone Tablet can cause serious kidney problems, especially if you are dehydrated, if you are taking diuretics (water tablets), or if you already have kidney disease. It can also cause low blood calcium and pain in the mouth or jaw. These are serious side effects and require immediate attention by your doctor or health care professional. Tell your doctor or health care professional immediately.

Before taking this Bandrone 50 mg Tablet, you should tell your doctor your medical history if you have any problems with your mouth or teeth such as poor dental health, gum disease, or planned tooth extraction, if you are a smoker (it may increase the risk of dental problems), have cancer, kidney or liver disease or any other medical complications and also inform if you are using any prescription medicines such as corticosteroids like prednisolone or dexamethasone or any non-prescription medicines like vitamins, herbs, etc. To monitor your kidney function and mineral levels, you may need frequent medical checks. Avoid smoking or try to quit. Smoking can reduce your bone mineral density, making you more likely to break a bone. Drinking large amounts of alcohol can also cause bone to thicken and should be avoided.

Bandrone 50 mg Tablet is not recommended for use by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is not for use by children under 18 years of age. Although there is a limited amount of research in humans, studies in animals have shown a harmful effect on the developing baby. Your doctor or health care professional will weigh up the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing this medicine for you. Consult your doctor for advice

Bandrone 50 mg Tablet can be taken by mouth without having to eat. It would help if you took it regularly at even intervals according to your doctor's schedule. It may take a few days for you to get the full benefit of this medicine.
