Introduction of Virostav 40 mg Tablet

Virostav 40 mg Tablet is an antiviral medication that prevents human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) from multiplying in the body used to treat HIV, which causes the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). It helps to control HIV infection, so your immune system can work better. Virostav 40 mg Tablet is not a cure for HIV or AIDS.

Virostav 40 mg Tablet may cause some common adverse effects including headache, diarrhoea, nausea, skin rash, or changes in the shape or location of body fat (especially in your arms, legs, face, neck, breasts, and trunk). These are usually not serious but tell your doctor if they bother you or do not go away. Rarely, some people may experience muscle pain or weakness, numb or cold feeling in their arms and legs, trouble breathing, dizziness, lightheadedness, tiredness, weakness, stomach pain, vomiting, or fast or uneven heart rate. Your doctor will closely monitor you for these in the initial period of treatment.

Do not take Virostav 40 mg Tablet with didanosine or zidovudine, or with any other medicine that contains stavudine. You may develop lactic acidosis, a dangerous build-up of lactic acid in your blood. If you experience unusual muscle pain, trouble breathing, stomach pain, dizziness, feeling cold, or feeling very weak or tired. Virostav 40 mg Tablet may also cause serious or life-threatening effects on your liver or pancreas. Contact your doctor at once if you have stomach pain or swelling, fever, nausea, vomiting, easy bruising or bleeding, loss of appetite, dark urine, or jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).

Virostav 40 mg Tablet will not prevent your disease from spreading. Do not have unprotected sex or share razors or toothbrushes. Talk with your doctor about safe ways to prevent HIV transmission during sex. Sharing drugs or medicine needles is never safe, even for a healthy person. Avoid drinking alcohol. It may increase your risk of pancreas or liver damage.

Before taking Virostav 40 mg Tablet, tell your doctor if you have skin problems or liver or kidney disease. While using it, you may need regular blood tests to check your blood counts and liver function. Avoid drinking alcohol as it may increase your risk of liver damage. Pregnant or breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctor before using Virostav 40 mg Tablet.

Virostav 40 mg Tablet can be taken with or without food. Taking all these medicines regularly at the correct times greatly increases their effectiveness and reduces the chances of HIV becoming resistant to them. It is important not to miss doses and to keep taking them until your doctor tells you it is safe to stop.

How to Use Virostav 40 mg Tablet?

Virostav 40 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or open the tablet. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the regular time. Do not take two doses at the same time to make up for a missed dose.
