Introduction of Xolair 150 mg Injection

Xolair 150 mg Injection is a monoclonal antibody. It is used to prevent the number of asthma attacks (sudden episodes of wheezing, shortness of breath, and trouble breathing) in adults and children 6 years of age and older with allergic asthma (asthma caused by inhaling substances such as dander, pollen, and dust mites) whose symptoms are not controlled with inhaled steroids. 

Xolair 150 mg Injection  is used to treat nasal polyps (swelling of the lining of the nose) in adults whose symptoms are not controlled with inhaled steroids. It is also used to treat chronic hives without a known cause that cannot successfully be treated with antihistamine medications such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl), cetirizine (Zyrtec), hydroxyzine (Vistaril), loratadine (Claritin) in adults and children 12 years of age and older. Xolair 150 mg is not used to treat other forms of hives or allergic conditions. Xolair 150 mg Injection works by blocking the action of a certain natural substance in the body that causes the symptoms of allergic asthma, nasal polyps, and hives.

This medicine may cause some common adverse effects including joint pain, pain (general), fatigue, dizziness, fracture, itching, dermatitis, upper abdominal pain, nasopharyngitis, headache, and ear pain. If you experience any of these side effects or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. This medicine does not prevent a sudden asthma attack, hence always carry your emergency inhaler with you.

Before using this Xolair 150 mg, please make sure to inform your doctor. If you have heart disease, kidney or liver disease. Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your healthcare team know all medications you are using.

Uses of Xolair 150 mg Injection

Allergic Asthma: Xolair 150 mg Injection is used to prevent the number of asthma attacks (sudden episodes of wheezing, shortness of breath, and trouble breathing) in adults and children 6 years of age and older with allergic asthma (asthma caused by inhaling substances such as dander, pollen, and dust mites) whose symptoms are not controlled with inhaled steroids.

Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps: Xolair 150 mg Injection is used to treat nasal polyps (swelling of the lining of the nose) in adults (18 years), whose symptoms are not controlled with inhaled steroids.

Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria: Xolair 150 mg Injection is used in adults and adolescents to treat chronic hives without a known cause that cannot successfully be treated with antihistamine medications.


Benefits of Xolair 150 mg Injection

Xolair 150 mg Injection is used to treat moderate to severe asthma in patients who have not responded well to other asthma medications. It is also used to treat chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives) in patients who have not responded to other treatments and also nasal polyps (swelling of the lining of the nose) in adults whose symptoms are not controlled with inhaled steroids and also used to treat nasal polyps (swelling of the lining of the nose) in adults whose symptoms are not controlled with inhaled steroids.

Allergic Asthma: Xolair 150 mg Injection is an effective treatment for allergic asthma. It works by targeting and blocking immunoglobulin E (IgE), a molecule involved in the allergic response that triggers asthma symptoms. By reducing the amount of IgE in the body, omalizumab can help prevent asthma symptoms from occurring.

Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps: Xolair 150 mg Injection may help to the reduction in nasal polyp size, improve the sense of smell, and reduce the use of corticosteroid medications. The treatment may also reduce the need for surgery in some patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps.

Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria: Chronic idiopathic urticaria (CIU) is a condition that causes itchy, red, and swollen skin patches (hives) that can last for several weeks or months. Xolair 150 mg Injection may improve the symptoms of chronic idiopathic urticaria in patients who have not responded to other treatments.
