Introduction of Encicarb Injection

Encicarb 500 mg Injection is an iron replacement medicine. It is used to treat iron deficient anaemia (low levels of iron in the blood) in adult patients who do not respond to or are unable to take oral iron supplements and who have chronic kidney disease that does not require dialysis. Encicarb 500 mg works by restoring the iron in red blood cells that carry oxygen throughout the body.

Using this Encicarb 500 may cause you to experience some common side effects such as vomiting, headache, dizziness, high blood pressure, or soreness and irritation at the injection site. These side effects will usually go away a short time after the injection. However, if they persist or are a problem for you, you should tell your doctor or nurse. In addition, you should not use this Encicarb 500 mg Injection if you have anaemia that is not caused by a lack of iron.

Before taking Encicarb 500 mg Injection, you should tell your doctor or nurse about any medical conditions you have, such as uncontrolled blood pressure, parathyroid disease, liver disease, hypophosphatemia (low levels of phosphorus in the blood), vitamin D deficiency, or inability to eat a healthy diet. All other medicines, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins and herbal products should also be mentioned. This may be because Encicarb 500 mg may interact with other medicines, causing unwanted effects. Regular blood pressure checks are recommended during treatment.

Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take Encicarb Injection. There may be a risk of severe reactions in the mother that may have an effect on the baby's heart rate. When used during pregnancy, may increase the risk of premature or low-born babies. Please consult your doctor for further information. You will need to have some blood tests to check your blood cell counts and iron levels, to monitor your progress and to check for any side effects.

Encicarb Injection is given intravenously by your doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinic. The dose will depend on your clinical condition and your doctor will decide how many doses you need.
