​​Menotas XP 1200 IU Injection is used along with other medicines to treat infertility to develop eggs in women who have not been able to become pregnant because of problems in ovulation. It is also used in men to stimulate sperm production. Menotas XP Injection containing follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland that plays a role in the development of the gonads (testes in men and ovaries in women) and the production of gametes (sperm in men and eggs in women). It is also involved in the regulation of the menstrual cycle in women.

​​Menotas XP 1200 IU Injection is not effective in women with primary ovarian failure (when the ovaries are unable to produce an egg) and men with primary testicular failure (when the testicles are unable to produce sperm).
