Introduction of Trombopag 50 mg Tablet

Trombopag 50 mg Tablet belongs to a class of medications called thrombopoietin receptor agonists. Trombopag 50 mg Tablet is used to treat low platelet count in chronic immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, and severe aplastic anaemia. Trombopag 50 mg works by stimulating the production of platelets in the bone marrow, which helps to increase the number of platelets in the blood.

Trombopag 50 mg Tablet may cause some common adverse effects including headache, anaemia (low red blood cell counts), decreased appetite, insomnia (difficulty sleeping), cough, nausea (feeling sick), diarrhoea, pruritus (itching), alopecia (hair loss), myalgia (muscle pain), pyrexia (fever), fatigue (tiredness), influenza (flu)-like illness, asthenia (weakness), chills and peripheral oedema, headache, dizziness, insomnia, cough, dyspnoea (difficulty breathing), pain in the belly or in the mouth and throat, nausea, diarrhoea, joint pain, muscle spasms, pain in limbs, fatigue, fever. If you experience any of these side effects, it is recommended to inform your doctor. They may be able to suggest ways to reduce or treat the symptoms.

Trombopag 50 mg Tablet can be used with some limitations and should be used only in patients with immune thrombocytopenia purpura whose degree of thrombocytopenia and clinical condition increases the risk of bleeding. Trombopag 50 mg should be used only in patients with chronic hepatitis C whose degree of thrombocytopenia prevents the initiation of interferon-based therapy or limits the ability to maintain interferon-based therapy. Safety and efficacy have not been established in combination with direct-acting antiviral agents used without interferon for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C infection.

Trombopag 50 mg Tablet can be taken on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal). It is better to take it, in the same way, and at the same time every day to get the maximum benefit. The dose depends on your weight, medical condition, and what you are being treated for. Your doctor will plan the correct dose for you. Do not stop taking the medication without consulting your doctor, even if you start to feel better. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is close to the time of your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one.


Uses of Trombopag 50 mg Tablet

Patients With Primary Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP): Trombopag 50 mg Tablet is used for the treatment of adult patients with primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) who have not responded to other treatments such as corticosteroids and immunoglobulins. The symptoms such as easy bruising, prolonged bleeding from cuts, or spontaneous bleeding from mucous membranes.

Patients With Chronic Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) infection: Trombopag 50 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of adult patients who have chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and are experiencing thrombocytopenia.

Patients With Acquired Severe Aplastic Anemia (SAA): Trombopag 50 mg Tablet is used to treat severe aplastic anaemia. who have either been unresponsive to previous immunosuppressive therapy or have undergone extensive prior treatment and are not eligible for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
