​​Virem R Tablet is a combination of antiviral medicines used for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) infection in adult and pediatric patients under 3 years of age. Virem R Tablet helps to prevent virus replication and spread within the body.

​​Virem R Tablet may cause some common adverse effects such as vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain or distension, dyspepsia, flatulence, headache, tiredness, dizziness, drowsiness, numbness, tingling or pain in hands or feet, loss of strength, difficulty falling asleep. Virem R Tablet may also cause rare but serious effects like severe rash, which may be accompanied by fever, fatigue, swelling of the face or lymph glands, an increase in eosinophils (type of white blood cells), and effects on the liver, kidney or lung. If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse immediately.

​​Virem R Tablet is not recommended for use in children under 3 years and in patients with severe liver impairment or allergy to sulfonamides (risk of cross-sensitivity). Virem R Tablet should be prescribed with caution in patients with drug-induced hepatitis (acute hepatitis, cytolytic hepatitis), skin disorders such as Steven Johns syndrome, toxic epidermal necrosis, blood-related disorders, etc. Monitor liver function before and during therapy, especially in patients with underlying chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, or pre-treatment transaminases elevations. Inform your doctor before using this drug if you are an elderly patient, or above 65 years of age, if you have a history of liver disease including hepatitis B or C, or have hemophilia, or if you are allergic to sulfa drugs.

Taking it at the same time every day will help you remember to consume it. Do not stop completing it until you finish the complete course, even when you feel better. If you stop taking this medicine too early, the infection may return or worsen.​

How Virem R Tablet Works?

Virem R Tablet is a combination of medicine containing Ritonavir and Darunavir. Ritonavir is a protease inhibitor that blocks the activity of the HIV protease enzyme, which is responsible for cleaving the long chains of HIV proteins into smaller functional units. By blocking this cleavage, ritonavir inhibits the replication of HIV. Darunavir is also a protease inhibitor that works by blocking the activity of the HIV protease enzyme. When taken together, ritonavir increases the blood levels of darunavir, making it more effective in inhibiting the replication of HIV.
