Virolans Tablet is a combination of antiretroviral medicines. It is prescribed to treat HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection. It boosts the immunity to fight against HIV to manage or treat AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome).

Virolans Tablet may cause some common adverse effects including headache, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, fatigue, diarrhoea, and rash. These are usually not serious but tell your doctor if they bother you or do not go away. Rarely, some people may experience a skin reaction or liver damage. Your doctor will closely monitor you for these in the initial period of treatment.

Virolans Tablet is not a cure for HIV or AIDS and only helps to decrease the amount of HIV in your body. Virolans Tablet helps to lower your risk of getting HIV-related complications and improves your lifespan. It is prescribed in combination with other HIV medicines. How to Use Virolans Tablet?

How Virolans Tablet Works?

Virolans Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Stavudine, lamivudine and nevirapine. They work by inhibiting the reverse transcriptase enzyme from working, which is required by the HIV-infected cells to make new viruses. This effect helps to inhibit viral replication.

Virolans Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Reduction of the dosage of Virolans Tablet is recommended for patients with impaired kidney function. Patients with creatinine clearance of less than 50 mL per min or patients on hemodialysis should not receive Virolans Tablet.

Virolans Tablet should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate liver diseases. The reduction in the daily dose of Virolans Tablet may be necessary for patients with mild to moderate impaired liver disease or liver cirrhosis. Virolans Tablet is not recommended for patients with impaired hepatic function because it is a fixed-dose combination that cannot be adjusted.
