Introduction of Votrient 200 mg Tablet

Votrient 200 mg Tablet belongs to a class of drugs called tyrosine kinase inhibitors. Votrient 200 mg is used to treat patients with kidney cancer and soft tissue sarcoma (STS), (a type of cancer that develops in the soft tissues of the body, such as muscles, tendons and fat). The safety and efficacy of this medicine in children aged 2 to 18 years have not been established.

Votrient 200 mg Tablet may cause a number of common side effects. These include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal discomfort, decreased appetite, weight loss, difficulty breathing, tumour-related discomfort, bone pain, muscle pain, headache, fatigue, changes in hair or skin colour, or changes in taste. The majority of these side effects will usually go away on their own and do not require immediate medical attention. However, if they continue or get worse, you should contact your doctor or health care professional.

You should not take Votrient 200 mg if you are allergic to pazopanib or any of the ingredients in Votrient 200 Tablet. Before starting treatment, it is important to tell your doctor about any medical conditions such as kidney, heart, lung, liver, bleeding, gastrointestinal, or thyroid problems. It's important to know that regular blood pressure checks are a necessary part of treatment as this tablet may increase your blood pressure. No dose adjustment is usually needed in patients with kidney disease.

Votrient 200 mg Tablet is to be taken orally once a day, preferably without food (at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal), until disease progression is seen. It's important to take this medicine at the same time each day to maximise its effectiveness. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage and frequency of dosing based on your specific condition, and this may change over time. It's very important that you follow your doctor's instructions exactly as not taking this medicine properly or taking more than the recommended dose may cause serious side effects. Please be aware that it may take several weeks or months before you start to feel the therapeutic benefits of this medicine, so it's important not to stop taking it unless you are told to do so by your doctor.

How to Use Votrient 200 mg Tablet?

Votrient 200 mg Tablet can be taken orally once a day, preferably without food (at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal). It is recommended that you swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water and that you do not crush, chew or break the tablet. If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you can. Skip the missed dose and return to your regular dosing schedule if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose of your medicine to make up for a missed dose.

Votrient 200 mg Tablet belongs to a class of drugs called tyrosine kinase inhibitors, Votrient Tablet works by inhibiting the activity of specific proteins called tyrosine kinases, which play a role in the growth and survival of cancer cells. It inhibits the activity of the BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase, which is a key driver of the abnormal growth of CML and Ph+ ALL cells. By inhibiting the activity of the BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase, Votrient 200 mg can help to slow down or stop the growth and spread of cancer cells, leading to an improvement in symptoms and potential benefits.

For patients with mild liver disease, Votrient 200 mg Tablet is recommended. No dose adjustment is required in patients with mild liver impairment. However, Votrient 200 mg is not recommended for use in patients with moderate or severe liver disease.

For patients with kidney impairment, dose adjustment is not recommended. Votrient 200 Tablet has not been studied in patients with severe renal impairment or in patients who are undergoing peritoneal dialysis or haemodialysis.
