• Tavin EM Tablet is a combination of two antiretroviral medicines containing emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate. It is used in the treatment of adults and adolescents (aged 12 years and older with a body weight of at least 35 kg) infected with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus type 1. It also helps control HIV infection and prevent the development of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).
  
  Tavin EM 300/200 mg Tablet does not completely cure HIV infection. It will reduce the progression of a chronic, potentially life-threatening condition known as acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and other HIV-related conditions. This tablet will work by stopping the virus from multiplying in the body.

How to Use Tavin EM Tablet?

• Tavin EM Tablet for HIV Prevention can be taken with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or open the tablet. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the regular time. How Tavin EM Tablet Works?

• Emtricitabine Tenofovir Tablet contains two active substances, emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil. Both of these active substances are antiretroviral medicines which are used to treat HIV infection. Emtricitabine is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor and tenofovir is a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor. However, both are generally known as NRTIs and they work by interfering with the normal working of an enzyme (reverse transcriptase) that is essential for the virus to reproduce itself.

Tavin EM Tablet should be modified in HIV-infected adult patients with creatinine clearance of 30–49 mL/min. Tavin EM 300/200 mg Tablet should not be used in patients with creatinine clearance below 30 mL/min and in patients with end-stage renal disease requiring dialysis.

Driving

Tavin EM Tablet may cause dizziness, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating and coordinating, which may affect your ability to drive a vehicle safely. Pregnancy

Tavin EM Tablet may be considered safe to use in pregnant women. There are no malformations or foetal/neonatal toxicity associated with Emtricitabine Tenofovir Tablet. Therefore the use of Emtricitabine Tenofovir Tablet may be considered during pregnancy, if necessary.
