Actilyse 20 mg Injection is a thrombolytic medication used to treat acute ST elevation MI, Acute ischemic stroke and pulmonary embolism associated with low blood pressure and blocked central venous catheter. Actilyse 20 mg Injection induces fibrinolysis and causes the breakdown of a clot. Chemical formula of Actilyse 20 mg Injection is C2569H3928N746O781S40. Actilyse 20 mg Injection is administered as an IV ( intravenously) under medical supervision.
Actilyse 20 mg Injection is mainly used for acute myocardial infarction ( STEMI ) and acute ischemic stroke, Massive pulmonary embolism, and a central venous catheter. It is used as a thrombolytic drug, also known as a fibrinolytic agent. Actilyse 20 mg Injection is also used for DVT ( Deep vein thrombosis ), peripheral artery disease, pleural effusion, prosthetic valve thrombosis, peritonitis.
Actilyse 20 mg Injection is administered as an infusion into a vein ( as an intravenous injection). It is usually given within 3 hours after the stroke or Heart attack's first sign.
Actilyse 20 mg Injection was the first recombinant tissue type plasminogen activator that binds to fibrin in the thrombus. Entrapped plasminogen is converted to plasmin by the plasminogen activator. Plasmin conversion initiates local fibrinolysis.
