Introduction of Plasbumin Injection

Plasbumin 20% Injection is a sterile, liquid preparation of albumin derived from human plasma. Plasbumin Injection is used to treat loss of blood volume. It is indicated for conditions such as hypovolemia, hypoalbuminaemia, acute nephrosis and liver failure. Plasbumin 20% is used to replace blood volume loss resulting from excessive trauma, bleeding, severe burns or injury, by maintaining the oncotic pressure or colloid osmotic pressure of the circulating blood volume.

Patients with a history of allergy to Plasbumin and those with cardiac failure, pulmonary oedema, or severe anaemia should not use this Plasbumin Injection.

The use of Plasbumin 20% may have an impact on blood pressure and sodium levels. Plasbumin Injection may cause an elevation in blood pressure because of its volume-expanding effects and also a rise in sodium levels as it is made from human blood plasma, which contains sodium. However, the effect on blood pressure and sodium levels may vary depending on the patient's specific medical condition and reaction to the treatment. Therefore, it is important to closely monitor blood pressure and sodium levels when receiving Plasbumin 20.
