Stemfor 24 mg Injection is an immunostimulant used in cancer patients, It mobilizes hematopoietic stem cells into blood stream. The chemical formula of this molecule is C28H54N8. It is also known as a Hematopoietic stem cell mobilized. Stemfor 24 mg Injection causes blood cells to move from the bone marrow towards blood so they can be extracted for transplant
Stemfor 24 mg Injection is used as a peripheral blood stem cell mobilization, which is a very useful source of hematopoietic stem cells for transplantation.
Stemfor 24 mg Injection is available as an injectable form that must be administered under the skin ( subcutaneously) as directed by your doctor under medical supervision only. Stemfor 24 mg Injection is an inhibitor of the CXCR4 chemokine receptor and blocks the binding of its cognate ligand, SDF- 1 alfa. Once in the marrow, stem cell CXCR 4 can act to help anchor stem cells to the marrow matrix either directly via SDF -1 alfa or through the induction of other adhesion molecules. Treatment with plerixafor results in leukocytosis and elevations in circulating hematopoietic progenitor cells.
