Introduction of Stemfor 24 mg Injection

Stemfor 24 mg Injection is a stem cell mobiliser indicated for use in combination with granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) to prepare haematopoietic stem cells for transplantation in patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (a blood cancer that affects the lymphatic system) and multiple myeloma (a type of cancer that affects the plasma cells of the bone marrow).

Stemfor 24 mg Injection contains Plerixafor, which belongs to the class of drugs called haematopoietic stem cell mobilisers. Stemfor Injection works by binding to the chemokine receptor CXCR4 and inhibiting the binding of its cognate ligand CXCL12.

Stemfor 24 mg Injection may cause side effects like nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, diarrhoea, flatulence, tiredness, and injection site pain. These side effects will gradually disappear over time and do not require medical attention. This Stemfor Injection is for use by a healthcare professional who has training in the use of this medicine. It should never be administered by yourself.

Do not use and tell your doctor if you are allergic to Stemfor Injection or any of its components. Tell your doctor before using if you have liver/kidney disease, heart disease, blood disorders, or respiratory problems. In pregnant women, this Stemfor Injection is known to cause fetal harm. Tell your doctor or health care professional if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Breastfeeding should be avoided while on this Stemfor Injection.
