It is also used to treat blood clots in the veins of your legs (deep vein thrombosis or DVT) or lungs (pulmonary embolism or PE) and to prevent blood clots from returning. Xarelto 10 mg Tablet is also used in children to stop blood clots from developing following a specific heart procedure (Fontan process). This medicine can effective by blocking certain proteins involved in clotting blood.
This medicine is used with aspirin to reduce the risk of stroke, heart attack, or other serious heart problems in people with coronary artery disease (decreased blood flow to the heart) or peripheral artery disease (decreased blood flow to the legs).
This Xarelto 10 mg Tablet may cause some common side effects such as easy bruising or bleeding (nosebleeds, bleeding gums, heavy menstrual bleeding). If you experience any symptoms, consult your doctor immediately. Do not take this medicine if you have severe kidney or liver problems, if you are currently bleeding or if you are taking other medicines to reduce blood clotting. You should not breastfeed while using this medicine. Unlike other anticoagulants, a regular blood test (PT-INR) is not required while taking this medicine.
