Cresemba 200 mg Injection is an azole antifungal medicine. It is used to treat fungal infections such as invasive aspergillosis and mucormycosis. Cresemba 200 mg Injection works by killing the growth of the fungus in the body. The safety and efficacy of Cresemba 200 mg in children aged below 18 years have not yet been established.

This medicine may cause some common side effects including Hypokalaemia, Decreased appetite, Headache, Somnolence, Vomiting, Diarrhoea, Nausea, Abdominal pain, Chest pain, Fatigue, and Injection site reaction. These side effects usually disappear shortly after the injection. However, if they persist or bother you, you should inform your doctor or nurse. Call your doctor to help if you have signs of an allergic reaction to Cresemba (hives, difficulty breathing, swelling in your face or throat) or a severe skin reaction (fever, sore throat, burning eyes, skin pain, red or purple skin rash with blistering and peeling), or liver damage, low potassium levels in the body.

Mucormycosis: Cresemba 200 mg Injection is used in the treatment of mucormycosis, also known as zygomycosis, which is a rare but serious fungal infection caused by a group of fungi called micromycetes. Mucormycosis can affect different parts of the body, including the lungs, sinuses, brain, and skin. Symptoms depend on the affected area and may include fever, headache, nasal congestion, black discharge from the nose, facial swelling, chest pain, cough, skin lesions, and abdominal pain.
