Posoxil GR Tablet is used to prevent certain fungal infections in patients who have a severely weakened immune system (patients who have had chemotherapy) and belongs to a class of medicines called antifungals.  Posoxil GR Tablet works by stopping the growth of fungi. This medicine is indicated for the prevention of invasive fungal infections in patients with neutropenia or haematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients receiving high-dose immunosuppressive therapy for graft-versus-host disease, and for the treatment of fungal infections.

Most of these side effects of Posoxil GR Tablet do not require medical attention and will gradually resolve over time, but if they persist or worsen, seek advice from your doctor.

Tell your doctor if you are allergic or hypersensitive to any of the ingredients in Posoxil GR Tablet, or if you are pregnant, suspect you may be pregnant, plan to become pregnant or are breastfeeding; your doctor will only prescribe Posoxil GR Tablet if the benefits outweigh the risks. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about your medical history and current therapies to rule out any possible adverse effects or interactions.

Posoxil GR Tablet is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to other antifungal drugs such as ketoconazole, fluconazole, itraconazole or voriconazole. Before taking Posoxil GR Tablet it's necessary to consult your doctor if you have certain heart conditions such as abnormal heart rhythm (long QTc interval), weakness of the heart muscle, heart failure or any heart rhythm disturbances, or if you experience severe kidney problems, diarrhoea or vomiting while being treated with this medicine, it's important to tell your doctor immediately as these conditions may affect the medicine's ability to work.
