Noxafil Tablet is an anti fungal medication, and it is used to treat invasive Aspergillus and candida infections. Chemical formula of Noxafil Tablet is C37H42F2N8O4. Noxafil Tablet is available as an oral suspension, delayed release tablets and iv injectables. It is a new oral brand spectrum anti fungal agent similar to Itraconazole. Due to its spectrum of activity, Noxafil Tablet could possibly be used in the treatment of fungal infection caused by mucor species and other zygomycetes.
Noxafil Tablet is used as prophylaxis against aspergillus and candida infection and in a patient with low immunity and who is at high risk or susceptible to these infections. For OPC (oropharyngeal candidiasis). For treatment of aspergillosis, fusariosis, and coccidioidomycosis in those who have an intolerance of Azoles and Amphotericin - B.
Noxafil Tablet is available in various drug forms as below: 1. Immediate release oral suspension ( liquid). 2. Delayed release oral suspension. 3. Delayed release tablets. 4. Injectable- for intravenous use. Noxafil Tablet injection must be given over a certain period of time as directed by your doctor. Noxafil Tablet oral suspension is taken during or within a few months after having a full meal.
Noxafil Tablet disrupts the close packing of Acyl chains of phospholipids, and that is how it impaired the function of certain membrane bound enzyme of the electron transport system. Ultimately it inhibits the growth of the fungi. By blocking the synthesis of ergosterol and inhibiting the enzyme Lanosterol 14 a- demethylase and accumulation of methylated sterol precursors, it inhibits the growth of fungi.
